![]() You should be in the green since your hoplites are tough little cookies and will hold Oathsworn long enough for you to flank with your cav. Next turn rush Tylis with the Pulpudeva army. In the same turn move your Pulpudeva army to the Pella region, and build 3 cavalry units for facing Tylis. We want to keep this from happening as long as we can. Be sure not to call Sparta OR Athens into the war, as they will decline and break the client state. Your cavalry can crush their mid-tier units pretty quickly. I recommend taking over Thracia first, since it is split between 3 nations which are weaker than you, and makes for a quick 1st full province. Some might regard this starting position as bad, since Thracia is culturally differenet and takes a lot of micro to stabilize, however this is a miniscule problem. A local power in Thracia, you start with 2 solid armies and 2 provincial capitals. Macedon starts in a great position for expansion. I have heard that it was hugely nerfed in some patches, however I have discovered after a couple of playthroughs that it is secretly one of the most powerful nations in the game.
